Falling on the edge

Reine hit the ground a few miles from the ruins of the use-to-be beautiful manors on Norvon hill. He rubbed his head which had a dull throb forming. He could scense a dark prescense nearby but put it off. Besides...it wasn't his duty anymore.
Reine had been painfully banished from the Kingdom of Paradise. Banished from his home for five hundred years. It was no longer his duty to keep the dark creatures in check...no longer his duty...
His silver blonde hair fell into his lavender eyes and he brushed it aside. For a guy, he had unusually long hair, falling to his waist. Reine had always been...odd... He didn't fit in with anyone...never got a date when he had been alive...few friends...
But now he was alive again...no longer immortal...there was no other word for it...he was...alive. He felt a great rush of...perhaps it was joy...yet sadness. He was lonely again. He hadn't thought about this for decades now...but now..it hit him...painfully. It felt like a hot poker, forced into his heart...
Reine tried to ignore this as he sought a place to stay...the third manor to the left seemed...inviting... He had no idea that this was where Sakura lived...but...perhaps it was fate...as they were destined to meet...

Reine walked through the dark building, feeling creeped out down to his toes. Everything about this building suggested evil...well to him it does...from the crimson and black curtains to the ivory covered staircase. It was surprisingly well kept though... He walked into the kitchen and of course found no food. With his stomach growling, walked into one of the many bedrooms upstairs. Reine looked at himself, he forgot how hard it was to be human...well almost human. He climbed into the soft bed, covered with moth-eatan blankets and tried in vain too fall asleep. But sleep would not come. How its silent sweetness eluded him. Two hours passed and Reine climbed out of the bed. "Well, if I can't sleep and I can't eat...I think I'll go walk around the house and...waste some time..." He thought. Stepping into the dimly lit hallway, he turned left. He was faced with another staircase. He took it and ended up in a tower, facing north. A gust of wind swept in and filled Reine with chills. He walked to the small window and stared at the beautiful, crescent moon. He could see everything from here...the land looked like a board came, the trees and animals like its pieces. It made him feel all the more lonely...he longed once again for something he might never have...a friend...

[Serenity]

::Grey eyes fluttered opened and a yawn escaped the soft pink lips of the one sleeping in one of the many rooms.Serenity sat on the edge of the bed,gripping the black moth eaten blanket."Oww..My head."She complained in a hushed whisper,clutching her hand to her forehead.She got up and looked out a window at the brilliant pale crescent moon.A sly smirk was curled on her face as she opened the window and whistled.A black crow,with bloody red eyes,swooped down from the night sky and landed on one of the bed posts.Serenity walked over to her 'pet' and pat it on the head,it cooed and then started preening itself.Serenity walked out of the room she was sleeping in and put her pure white hair up with a clip,two eagle feathers hung from it.She yawned again and clutched her stomach,it growled."Well..I haven't eaten in two weeks....Guess it's time for something."She said and stalked along the hallway,not know she had company.As she neared the north tower she froze,and licked her slightly large fangs."Well...A little nibble wouldn't hurt....."She said as her eyes widened with lust,a smirk played on her face.As she came to one of the entrances to the tower she quickly dodged into the room and into a dark corner,using shadow bending to conceal her self."Oh...Hansome.."She said with a smile,eyes turned a lustful purple.::

Reine turned abruptly around. There was no one there. HE tried to calm himself down but couldn't. "This house is probably falling apart." He reassured himself. Reine ran a slender hand though his pale hair and sighed.

Sakura came through a window somewhere and immediately sensed something different. She groaned. "I leave for what? An hour? And this place gets infested." She thought. The vampiress climbed the marble staircase and followed the aura. The scent got stronger as she approached the west wing. It was light...and dark. There is more than one than... Sakura ducked into the shadows, blending with its darkness. A male form stood against the window. His hair glimmering in the moonlight. Sakura licked her lips. "Hmmm... pretty...I could do with a spot of breakfast...after all...that battle with Sin wasn't very appetizing..."

[Serenity]

::A loud sigh escaped her lips and she quickly slapped a hand to her mouth.'d**n IT!!',She screamed to herself in her mind.She shifted a little in the shadows,hoping the male didn't see her or hear her.She licked her fangs and sniffed the air,another vampire.....Her grey eyes turned a lustful looking purple again for she hadn't really had any encounter with a man before.She still tried to stay silent but let out another loud sigh.::

Reine turned around. This time, he definetly heard it. His eyes were fearful but thinking as he scanned the dark room.

Sakura's hand shot out and closed around something warm and soft. She pulled it towards her. "Well well well...what are you doing under my roof, my pretty..." She whispered into Serenity's ear. Sakura breathed lightly onto Serenity'd neck. "Unfortunately for you..." she murmered. "I'm a little hungry...but that's for later..." Sakura dragged her hostage into the room where Reine stood. "Now...why are you here..." She studied him, sizing him up. He doesn't look half bad... Maybe I could keep this one...as a pet... A pretty kitty...
Reine looked at the girl. His blue eyes traveled to the other girl in her grasp. "I-I didn't know other people lived here..." He stammered, trying to keep the fear out of his voice.
"Heh...not people my dear...vampires..." Sakura said in a deep velvety voice. She stared deep into his eyes, taking control of his mind...yes...she thought, a pretty kitty indeed... Sakura licked her lips thoughtfully...I like this one...

[Serenity]

::Serenity struggled under the other vampire's grip,she let out a cat like hiss then remembered something.'Duh! I can shape shift!'She closed her eyes but she couldn't turn into the animal of her choice."Agh.."'d**n IT!! No full moon.'She sighed and gave up on struggling,she hated her half human self.A low growl came from her stomach."Well no dinner for me then.."She sighed to herself and licked her lips looking at the man in front of her.::

Reine felt his mind grow heavy... He felt himself lose control as he walked towards the vampires. He tried in vain to stop himself as he slowly walked into impending doom. "That's right..." a smooth voice hissed in his mind. "Now..." Reine stopped in front of Sakura and Serenity. He waited patiantly for more instructions.

Sakura turned to the captive girl in her hand. "Well then...lets all get to know each other..." She snapped her fingers and the doors and windows flew shut. "What's your name pretty one..." She looked at Reine.

"I am Reine...fallen angel from the plains of Paradise..." he said in a sleepy, dreamy voice.
"A fallen huh...cute..." Sakura smirked. "What about you...? What's a introduction without names...?"

[Serenity]

::She just looked up and slitted her eyes,turning red with hate."Serenity...Half vampire and a shadow bender..."She said in a venomous tone,her stomach growled again.'And I was going to have dinner..But yet again another delay.'She sighed and licked her fangs,making them shine with her saliva.

"Oooh...a shadow bender...impressive..." Sakura's eyes softened and she released the girl she held. "So...you're a half blood...so am I..." She murmered quietly. Her voice grew a degree warmer. She turned to Reine. "What business do you have within my dwelling?" She noticed Serenity's stomach growling, "Hmm...you were planning to eat him weren't you? Such a pretty thing shouldn't be put to waste like that... Come on, I'll get us some food..." Sakura suddenly smiled slightly. "Of course, this place is empty so...we'll have to go out..." A mischievious sparkle played at her grey eyes...

[Serenity]

::Her eyes turned back to their normal grey and a slight smile played on her face.She nodded slightly and a high pitched whistle escaped her lips.Haruki,her crow,came up through the floor in a burst of dark light.It landed on Serenity's shoulder and blinked all four of its red eyes.It cawed and nuzzled her in the neck with its beak.She smiled more at her only friend and pat him on the head making him coo.::

Reine gulped. "At least I'm not dead yet..." He thought inwardly. Sakura smiled and placed a hand on the window. she leaped out and her velvety soft wings sprouted from her slender shoulders, supporting her. "Come on angel bot! I know you've got wings!" Sakura laughed.

Reine forced a smile and joined her. His wings were brilliantly white, tipped with gold. The wind blew through his hair, making it dance like lights in the dark air. Sakura found herslf staring but caught herself and looked back to Serenity. "You comeing?" Sakura through her head up high, tossing her beautiful raven hair, cupping her mouth. A long, sad howl ascaped from her lips. It was so beautiful...so...sad... Reine had to look at her, he found it hard to look away. Down below, a beautiful silver wolf emerged from the trees and replied to her call.

::She nodded and black and red dragon wings sprouted from her back.She leaped from the window and landed on her feet in a very graceful manner.She twisted her legs together and threw her hands up in the air."Tada.."She said to herself and smiled.Haruki flew from her shoulder and landed on a near by tree and was engulfed in a dark purple light.It stepped out of the light bigger than it was for he was no ordinary crow.....He was one of the reapers minons....[Will tell of his history later,and how Serenity knows the reaper!]

Sakura smirked and clapped. "Well then...I know what Serenity and I like...what about you Reine...?" She asked in a smooth, deep voice. "Uh...I dunno. I haven't ate in a long...time..." Reine looked down at his hands and sighed. "I guess I'll tag along and see." Sakura smirked at him. "Alrighty...come on uh...creatures..." She turned swiftly, black hair tumbling. A shrill whistle told the wolf to trot beside her. They headed towards the human side...where they could find plenty of...food...
